The WEC have revealed their new look calendar with Silverstone returning to a six hour format, the first event to experience Le Mans Hypercar action.
Most notably are the additions of a six hour race at Italian Grand Prix venue Monza, and the former host of the South African Grand Prix, Kyalami.
It will be the first time the WEC visits both venues, with the renowned Italian circuit being dropped from the Intercontinental Le Mans calendar before the chance to host an official WEC race. However, in 2017, it did play host to the season prologue.
Kyalami played host to its first international endurance race in over 27 years when the nine hour IGTC finale visited in November.
The iconic South African venue last hosted a round of the World Sportscar Championship back in 1984, when Ricardo Patrese and Alessandro Nannini were victorious inthe 1000km race at the helm of a Lancia LC2 .
Races in Fuji, Bahrain, Sebring and Spa remain on the calendar, with the six hours of Shanghai and the COTA/Sao Paulo round dropping from the schedule.
