Italian brand Alfa Romeo have announced they have resigned Antonio Giovinazzi for the 2020 season, after having a strong first full year in F1.
The 25-year-old is currently 18th in the standings, and has scored four points to teammate Kimi Räikkönen’s 31pts.
With his strong connections, both by nationality and with the Ferrari Academy, Giovinazzi was more or less guaranteed to get the seat.
With only one seat left to be snapped up, it looks likely that Nico Hulkenberg will be out of a Formula One drive.

The German was bumped from Renault when the french team signed Esteban Ocon for 2020.
Then it looked likely Hulkenberg would get a Haas seat, but they resigned Romain Grosjean, and with the final seat at Williams looking set to be taken by F2 runner-up Nicholas Latifi, we are likely to be waving goodbye to Hulk come Abu Dhabi.
