In what has been an incredible piece of breaking news, today a company called Penske Entertainment Corp. has purchased the NTT IndyCar Series, and the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The venue that hosts the spectacle that is the Indy 500, as well as Nascar and was once the home of the US Grand Prix will have new owners for the first time since 1945, when Hulman & Company bought ownership.
Interestingly the three-car Penske team, that fields Joseph Newgarden, Will Power and Simon Pagenaud, will technically be racing in a series that it owns.
With the level of experience, expertise, and extensive commitment, the move by Penske will secure the future of IndyCar. Add into the mix that Roger Penske himself is a true racer, then I believe the series is in good hands.
