Wing Wednesday: The monstrous rear wing of the Chaparral 2F

There are rear wings, and then there’s this design that feature on the back of Chaparral 2F.

Based on the 2E from the prior year, the 2F debuted in 1967 and swiftly caught the eyes of the motorsport world.

In what was a difficult year for the car, it picked up its only ever win at Brands Hatch, with Mike Spence and Graham Hill at the wheel.

Interestingly, the car was ruled out of future competition by the same regulation change that forced the iconic Ford GT40 Mk.IV, which was that years Le Mans winner and the Ferrari 330 P3/4 which was the winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona.
