Toyota’s Ott Tanak secured his first WRC title after a year long battle with Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville and Citroen’s Sebastian Ogier.
The Estonian driver took the crown after finishing second at Rally Spain last week, but six wins over the course of the 13 events so far in 2019 has handed him the title.
In winning the title the 32-year-old stopped the French grip on the crown, which has seen Sébastian’s Loeb and Ogier share 15 titles since 2004.
