Throwback Thursday: Corvette’s one-off appearance in the WEC at Shanghai, 2018

Driven by stalwart Chevrolet drivers Tommy Milner and Oliver Gavin, the silver C7.R took to the Shanghai circuit as part of a one-off entry.

The car ditched the typical ‘Millennium Yellow’ for a silver tone, as a nod to special-edition range of cars that were being sold in China.

The race was stopped twice as heavy rain caused dangerous track conditions. It wasn’t until the fourth hour of the race that cars were able to run continuously on a safe circuit.

It want the first time a Corvette has appeared in the WEC, as one was previously entered during the Lone Star Le Mans event at Austin, 2014
